Thanks for this positive and hopefilled post.

I am praying for just this kind of church to come to eastern Louisville.

If there is any interest or chance of planting a church here, count me in.

Hope is here. Hope is now. Paul preached scriptural holiness and the church grew exponentially spreading across the world. And here we are. -Ordained GMC pastor (and also a woman)

While I’m not an official member in a local GMC, I’ve been active for about a decade, and continue to be an adult SS facilitator at a local congregation and encouraged their decision to join the GMC. You wrote that you could find no evidence of an independent church in the New Testament. I agree. What you do find, are many nondenominational assemblies all connected to one Church through their union in Christ Jesus. With Paul rebuking the Corinthian congregation for their divisiveness, and Jesus’s prayer for unity in John 17, I fail to see how the institutional church can justify all the various sects within the body of Christ. I really don’t consider the disaffiliation that occurred within the UMC to be a true church split. What happened there were orthodox believers walking away from an apostate religious organization. I do believe that the Wesleyan Movement could be the instrument that God employs to facilitate the next Great Awakening. I’ll continue to pray for that to happen.
